Alone, the beauty of snow-covered mountains is a sight to be seen. Add the bright green glow of the aurora borealis, however, and the scene becomes breathtaking.
Shot across 400 kilometres and over seven hours, this Video of the Week showcases the aurora borealis over the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Uploaded by Calgary photographer Richard Gottardo, the time-lapse video features scenes of lakes, cities and of course, mountains — all bathed in the backlight of this magnetic phenomenon.
