Smartphone video cameras have become pretty impressive, but they still pale in comparison to what professional photographers are working with nowadays.

In this ultra-high-quality time-lapse video, some of Rio de Janeiro’s most famous sights, such as the Rocinha favela, the Copacabana beaches and the Christ the Redeemer statue are shown in stunning 10K resolution. It was shot over a period of 12 days, using a camera that costs–wait for it–$40,000.

“I wanted to show a couple things with this demo video. First, the extreme resolution of this camera,” writes Los Angeles-based photographer Joe Capra in the video description. “Second, the amazing amount of flexibility this resolution allows for in post production.”
