It’s a familiar scene to many driving in Alberta’s national parks. Several cars stop along the road to view wildlife that has wandered near human territory. But getting too close to wildlife can be risky for both the animal and people, as witnessed earlier this week when an elk wandered into Ottawa’s downtown area and was eventually killed by police.

In this video captured last Sunday, a couple on a motorcycle stopped on a Montana highway to film two elks. However, one of the elks took an interest in the couple and came dangerously close to them. The couple narrowly escaped as they drove off, but the elk chased after them down the road.
