While the lyrics of Fly Like an Eagle by the Steve Miller Band may have been all the rage back in the ‘70s, those of us who are sadly flight-deficient don’t really have an appreciation for what that actually feels like.
That is until this video, uploaded by YouTube user Srachi on September 16, that shows an eagle’s point-of-view as it soars high above the French Alps in Chamonix, France, near the Mer De Glace glacier.
It seems the makers of the video strapped a GoPro — a portable action camera — to the eagle’s back and set it loose to go for a flight.
The result is an exhilarating ride around a mountain outpost, complete with a view of the eagle’s wings flapping and head swivelling, perhaps trying to figure out what contraption was strapped to its back.
