In this Nature Scoop video, staff at the Museum of Nature take viewers behind closed doors and into their collection rooms to show off artifacts from Franklin’s last voyage.

The items on display–some nails, a piece of canvas, a metal hinge, button and thimble–were found in 1992 off the coast of King William Island. The staff later talk about the importance of museums’ role in preserving history, and of the longstanding link between science and exploration.
