"We must build a coherent view of what the 21st century ought to look like, and at the heart of that must be wild nature." So says Harvey Locke, founder of the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative (Y2Y), in the January/February 2017 issue of Canadian Geographic.

Over the past 20 years, Y2Y has expanded its protected land into a 3,500-kilometre-long corridor that stretches from southern Wyoming to northern Yukon. Some 300 partner groups have joined forces to preserve this crucial landscape for wildlife such as wolves and bears.
