Online mapping technology is giving the stories of prominent Canadian women an engaging new presentation.

Using their ArcGIS platform, Esri Canada has created an interactive story map highlighting the journeys and accomplishments of Canadian heroines in honour of International Women's Day.

The stories are sourced from Merna Forster's book 100 Canadian Heroines: Famous and Forgotten Faces and paired with videos from Historica Canada.

"It’s a great resource for the public to learn about outstanding women who helped shape Canadian history," said Joy Chan, public relations specialist with Esri Canada.
