Canada has no shortage of museums dedicated to preserving our country's wonders and, if Museum Selfie Day is any indication, no shortage of Canadians interested in learning about them.

Museum Selfie Day was started in 2014 by UK-based blogger Mar Dixon, who leads monthly Twitter events aimed at highlighting the fun, un-stuffy side of museums and cultural institutions around the world. Her other inventive hashtags have encouraged museum lovers to share photos of everything from museum staircases to museum cats.

This year's Museum Selfie Day has been a resounding success, with the event hashtag, #MuseumSelfie, trending worldwide on Twitter.

Here, we've collected a few of our favourite selfies from museums across Canada. Share yours on Twitter with the hashtag #MuseumSelfie! Just don't forget to be respectful of the museum's exhibits and other visitors; check out the Royal Ontario Museum's Selfie Guide for tips.
