Steep at twice the price
Next time you grumble about the price of milk and eggs at your local grocery
store, imagine paying double. That's roughly how much more it costs for a
range of common staples in Cape Dorset, Nunavut, compared with prices in a
southern city like Ottawa. And despite the subsidized food-mail rate, your
bill would be almost three times as much in Old Crow, Yukon.

  Ottawa Cape Dorset,
Nunavut
Old Crow,
Yukon
Chef Boyardee Mini Ravioli, 425g $1.39 $3.65 $4.29
Minute Rice, 700g $3.49 $6.49 $7.69
Catelli Spaghetti, 900g $2.29 $4.69 $6.59
One dozen large eggs $2.35 $3.69 $4.29
