Taking it to the street

The ringing begins quietly with one tinny handlebar bell, then plastic horns join in, honking
in agreement. The sound grows, piercing the rush-hour din, swelling to a happy cacophony
as Toronto cyclists set off on Critical Mass, a monthly group ride through the downtown core.
Dreadlocked couriers and activists on homemade bikes, grey-haired commuters and moms with
toddlers in baby seats all move together from the intersection of Spadina Avenue and Bloor
Street, winding their way through downtown in a moving, grooving street party.
