The return of spring brings with it a surge of visitors to the western Nunavut community of Cambridge Bay (population 1,300), on the southeast coast of Victoria Island. They come from the South, the North and everywhere in between to celebrate the Omingmak Frolics — an annual festival that takes place during the week of Victoria Day and has for as long as anyone can remember.
