Row yer boat
Excerpt by Wanita Bates
As dawn breaks over St. John's on the first Wednesday
of August, all ears tune to the radio to hear
whether the oldest organized sporting event in North
America is a go. The Royal St. John's Regatta is 187 years old.

municipal holiday if pond conditions are fine. The pond, as
people from around here call it, is Quidi Vidi Lake, nestled in a
little valley at the edge of the North Atlantic.
