Photographer Paul Nicklen began his career as a biologist and spent three years studying lynx before turning to photography full-time in 1994. Since then, his work has appeared in Canadian Geographic, , National Geographic, Life, Time, Natural History and many other magazines. His first book, Seasons of the Arctic, was published in the fall of 2000. He lives near Whitehorse.
