Scientists are working on a
cure for capripox, a range of diseases as damaging
as hoof-and-mouth, that affects goats, sheep
and cattle. Because Canada is already infected,
the research is being conducted at the National
Centre for Foreign Animal Disease in Winnipeg.
This avoids danger to capripox-free, but threatened,
Australia.
