With the Fraser or other waterways in view much of the time, Hwy. 7 (Lougheed Highway)

Fort Langley to Hope
via Highway 7

offers a scenic and less frenzied alternative to the TCH race- track to Hope. The route is rich in history, which is captured in numerous museums and heritage sites (see Introduction to TCH route). If you have used Hwy. 10, simply stay on Glover Road until you reach the village and historic siteof Fort Langley; continue on Glover Road across McMillan Island to the free Albion ferry, which crosses the main stem of the Fraser, and on to Hwy. 7 east to Mission. You can also reach Hwy. 7 via Hwy. 11, linking Mission with Abbotsford, or via Hwy. 9, around Agassiz. You should allow extra time for the Hwy. 7 route, especially if there is a lineup for the 10-minute ferry crossing. For a look at the history of the region's farming, visit the B.C. Farm Machinery and Agricultural Museum in the village of Fort Langley.
