There will be one random draw for the prizes of one (1) Garmin NUVI GPS and ten (10) one-year subscriptions to Canadian Geographic. If a selected winner currently receives Canadian Geographic, one year will be added to their current subscription.
The contest ends on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 12 p.m. E.S.T.
The winners will be drawn in Ottawa at 9 a.m. E.S.T. Friday, October 23, 2009.
The winners will be notified by 5 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009.
Eligibility
To enter and be eligible to win, you must be a resident of Canada, of the age of majority in the province or territory where you reside, and not an employee of, a member of the immediate family of, or domiciled with an employee of any division of Canadian Geographic, The Royal Canadian Geographical Society, or their subsidiaries affiliates, and agencies. No purchase is necessary.
Prizes
In order to win, the selected entrants must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical, skill-testing question administered by telephone, e-mail or by mail.
The winners will be contacted by Canadian Geographic to make arrangements for the awarding of their prize.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable or extendible, nor can they be redeemed for cash or combined with any other promotion. By entering, each winner agrees that their name and address may be used for further contact by Canadian Geographic.
The odds of being selected will depend on the total number of eligible entries received. All entries become the property of Canadian Geographic, which assumes no responsibility for lost, delayed or misdirected entries. Entrants agree to abide by the contest rules and the decisions of the contest organizers, which are final.
This contest complies with all federal and provincial laws. Contest is void where prohibited.

If you are an existing Canadian Geographic Facebook fan and/or if you become Canadian Geographic Facebook fan during the History vs. Geography campaign timeframe, you will be automatically entered in the draw to win.
If you become a follower on the History vs. Geography Twitter page during the History vs. Geography campaign timeframe, you will be automatically entered in the draw to win.
Announcing and Contacting the Winners
The names of the winners will be posted on the Canadian Geographic Fan Page and tweeted about on the History vs. Geography Twitter page on this Friday October 23, 2009. The winners will be contacted via the Facebook Fan and/or Twitter page and asked to provide their address. The prizese will be delivered to the addresses provided. If a winner does not respond with their address within two (2) weeks, another name will be drawn.
