SPECIAL FEATURE
Peter Bennett
In 2002, Bennett spent five months on the African continent, shooting pictures for international-development aganecies. This image comes from South Africa. The national flag provides a backdrop mural for a quartet of glue-sniffing street kids in Johannesburg. "it's difficult," says Bennett, "for me to consider photos of desperately poor people as art. Art serves patrons. I would like my photographs to serve their subjects."
